Professor Robert MacIntosh

Robert is Professor of Strategic Management and Pro Vice Chancellor at Northumbria University. His long-standing research partnership with StrategyStory’s Donald MacLean has produced a number of co-authored articles, many of which involve senior business leaders as well as leading academics from the US and Europe. A selection of these articles can be found on Researchgate and the second edition of their book Strategic Management: Strategists at Work is due for publication in 2023.

Robert has worked with senior leadership teams in a range of public, private and charitable organisations on strategy assignments and research projects. He also brings extensive boardroom experience to his work on strategy having held leadership roles in four different universities and served as the chair of the social care charity, Turning Point Scotland (2013-2021). He is currently the chair of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (since 2019) and sits on the board of Revenue Scotland, the devolved tax authority of the Scottish Government.
